Washington, DC, September 30, 2020 – The United States Food and Drug Administration awards Newbridge Wireless, a leading distributed antenna systems (DAS) developer and operator, a multi-year service contract. Under the contract, Newbridge Wireless will develop, deploy, and maintain a DAS infrastructure on FDA’s National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) campus in Jefferson, Arkansas. The proposed infrastructure will be capable of providing cellular services from all major wireless service providers (WSPs) in the United States.
Also known as the Jefferson Labs, the NCTR campus is geographically adjacent to the Pine Bluff Arsenal. The research center is located off Interstate 530 in Jefferson, Arkansas. It is the only FDA center located outside the Washington, DC area, and the campus takes up approximately 1 million square feet. NCTR was established by executive order in 1971.
